The deployment counts pages
Every page through /v3/pdf or a batch job and every image through /v3/text, per UTC day, readable at GET /pco/v1/usage.

Counts reach Mathpix, documents do not
A metered deployment reports its daily counts. An air-gapped deployment exports a signed usage statement you send us instead. Neither carries a document, a page image or a result.

Included usage first, then the additional rate
Pages within the year's included amount cost nothing more. Pages past it are invoiced monthly at $1 per 1,000 on Standard, or your volume rate on Enterprise.
Frequently Asked Questions
Every page the deployment processes through /v3/pdf or a batch job, and every image through /v3/text, counts as one page. A 30-page PDF is 30 pages whichever output formats you request. The deployment keeps the count per UTC day and shows it at GET /pco/v1/usage, so you always see the same numbers we do.
A Kubernetes cluster or a single host with one NVIDIA GPU, plus Redis and an S3-compatible bucket, Google Cloud Storage or Azure Blob. Both Redis and a bucket are included in the install if you have none. Workers per GPU scale with its memory: about one OCR worker per 5 GB of VRAM. You pay your own infrastructure; the license covers the software.
A metered deployment reports its daily page counts to Mathpix; usage past the included amount is invoiced at the end of each month at the additional-usage rate. A deployment that cannot report, for example an air-gapped one, exports a signed usage statement you send us instead. Documents and results are never part of either.
Yes. The same models, the same POST /v3/pdf and POST /v3/text endpoints, the same options, output formats, streaming and webhooks. The one documented option a deployment refuses is metadata, whose improve_mathpix key would send documents to Mathpix, which is the thing a private deployment exists to prevent.
As a new image tag in your registry, on your schedule. An upgrade replaces containers one at a time, and documents in flight resume from the page they reached. Updates are included in every plan.
Yes, on the Enterprise plan. An air-gapped image makes no outbound call at all: no license check-in, no usage report. You export the usage statement from the deployment instead.
