This post was updated on 4/4/2022 with new information about how students can get more free usage from Mathpix and on 19/4/2023 with new usage limits for educational plan and information about institutional licences.
In light of recent events, We have now increased the number of free Snips on the Mathpix Free plan for educational users to 20.
This change applies to all current users and any future accounts created with an educational email address domain. When you sign up with your educational email, you will automatically be put on the Educational plan. If your account does not get updated automatically, you may have a domain that is not recognized by our system, just send us an email to let us know and we will fix it for you.
Get more free Snips
You can also get extra Free Snips added to your account by sharing Snip on social media, or leaving us a review in the iTunes App Store, Google Play Store, or on G2. Email us a screenshot of your post/review and we will give you free Snips!
Get a Pro plan for free
If you are associated with an institution, please contact them and let them know you are interested in using Mathpix’s services. The institutional license ensures that every user who signs up using a corporate email gets a Pro Plan automatically. To find out more information and fill in the request for service form, please visit this page.
You can also get 12 months of Mathpix Pro for free when you submit to a Spectra competition.
